Steel Plate Trials

Our Steel Plate Trials is a speed shooting competition that consists of stages with steel targets in two sizes; circular and square. There are 4 shoot targets and a 5th STOP target on each stage.  Competitors are scored solely by the time it takes them to complete each 5 target stage, and the match winner is the competitor with the lowest overall time for all stages.

You should have 5 magazines for your pistol.  Revolver shooters should have sufficient speed loaders or moon clips to complete 5, 5-shot minimum, fast paced rounds at each stage.

Shooting for this event will be from the low ready position or you may draw from your holster.  There will be no shooting position changes.  Each stage of 5 targets is shot 5 times; your best 4 times are your score for each stage.  Missed targets can be picked up or take a 5 second penalty.  Time stops when you shoot the STOP target.  Missing the STOP target or not finishing is a 30 second penalty.

The Range is Cold; all fire arms are to be in a holster that covers the trigger and the trigger guard or cased until a Range Officer gives instructions to handle your weapon.

This is a pistol caliber shoot.  Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC) rifles may be used; maximum velocity of 1600 feet per second. .22 cal is .22 LR only; no magnum loads.
