February Minutes

Call to Order:

The February 19, 2026 meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. with a moment of silence and the Pledge of Allegiance.  Twenty members and guests were present.  

Approval of Meeting Minutes:

The Secretary read the minutes of the January 15, 2026 meeting. On a motion by Jay Gross, seconded by John Stortzum, the minutes were approved as read.

Treasurer’s Report:

The treasurer’s report for February was read by the Secretary in the Treasurer’s absence.  On a motion by John Stortzum, seconded by Ken Hall, the report was approved as read.

President’s Report:

The president reported that there was a lot of interest in the Club from visitors to the Early Bird Expo; 23 membership applications were handed out. Other events happening locally that may be of interest to Club members are:

Feb. 28: Swap meet at the Zerbe Gun club

March 21: Club Member, Sean Zanella, is teaching a basic rifle class at Keystone Fish and Game Assoc – 6-hour class, $60 fee

March 29: Swap meet at Keystone Fish and Game Assoc.

April 10: Friends of the NRA dinner at Espy fire hall, Bloomsburg

April 18: Gus Jones from North Montour Sportsman’s Assoc. is doing PRS shoot at Keystone Fish and Game (and we hope to bring PRS shoots to MSC)

June 13: Keystone Fish and Game Assoc. is hosting a pistol caliber Carbine 2-gun shoot on an interesting course

New Business: 

The Secretary read a letter from VP Bill Keiser in which he declined this year’s nomination for VP but will continue to support the Club as a Board member.  The President then opened the floor to nominations for the offices of Secretary and Vice President.  Don Lingousky nominated Jay Gross for Vice President.  Jay Gross nominated Joyce Lingousky to continue as Secretary. There being no other nominations, the floor was closed to nominations.  At the March meeting the floor will be open to any additional nominations and election of officers for 2-year terms.

Good and Welfare of the Club:

JoJo Stortzum volunteered to provide the March meeting dinner.

Adjournment:

There being no further business to discuss, on a motion to adjourn by everyone, the meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
