February Minutes

Feb 20, 2024

Call to Order:

The February 15, 2024 meeting of the Mainville Sportsmen’s Club began at 7:05 p.m. with a moment of silence and the Pledge of Allegiance.  Thirty one members and guests were present.  

Approval of Meeting Minutes:

Secretary Lingousky read the minutes of the January 18, 2024 meeting.  A motion was made by Gerry Von Blohn and seconded by Ed Bergen to approve the minutes as read. The motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report:

Treasurer Felegie presented the treasurer’s report for February. A motion to approve the report as presented was made by Ed Bergen, seconded by Donna Romig. The motion carried.

President’s Report:

President Jaskiewicz turned the meeting over to VP Morehead to read a prepared statement.  Vice President Morehead stated that he was not seeking re-election for the position of VP but that he would continue serving on the board as a Director at large.   The officers and members thanked Curt for his years of service to the Club, having served for many years as Secretary and as Vice President.

President Jaskiewicz reported that the UPS for the gate computer is back in service.

Committee Reports:  

Steel reported 17 shooters

Practical Pistol reported 9 shooters.

Old Business:  

Gerry Von Blohn reported that the Early Bird Expo was a success. Sixty one membership applications were handed out, many people stopped at the Club’s table and were excited to learn about our events.  We will reserve a table for next year and build on this year’s success.

New Business:

The floor was opened to nominations for the offices of Vice President and Secretary.  Don Lingousky nominated Gerry Von Blohn for VP. Motion seconded by Mel Bardo. With no other nominations forthcoming, nominations for VP were closed.  The floor was opened to nominations for Secretary.  Donna Romig nominated Joyce Lingousky for Secretary, seconded by Rod Bardo.  With no other nominations forthcoming, nominations for Secretary were closed.  The floor will be open for additional nominations at the March meeting prior to the election for these two officer positions.

Good and Welfare of the Club:

Mel and Rod Bardo volunteered to do dinner for the March meeting.  

Gerry Von Blohn reminded everyone that the Friends of the NRA dinner will be April 12, 2024 at the Espy fire hall. Tickets are $50.  All proceeds come back to NEPA to support youth and women’s sporting programs. There will be door prizes and a new all-you-can–eat menu. There will be more than 26 guns raffled off. Tickets available from Gerry.

There being no further business to discuss, on a motion to adjourn by Donna Romig, seconded by Billy 

Romig, the meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
