Dec 22, 2023

Call to Order:

The December 21, 2023 meeting of the Mainville Sportsmen’s Club began at 7:00 p.m. with a moment of silence and the Pledge of Allegiance.  Twenty five members and guests were present.

  • Secretary Lingousky read the minutes of the November 16, 2023 meeting.  A motion was made by Paul Shadowcat and seconded by Mel Bardo to approve the minutes as read. The motion carried.

The Treasurer’s report for December was given by Secretary Lingousky in Treasurer Felegie’s absence. A motion to approve the report as presented was made by Mel Bardo, seconded by Jim Cunningham. The motion carried.

President’s Report:

President Jaskiewicz reported that although the gate is working the battery backup system (UPS) is not working. It is out for repair or replacement depending on the results of diagnostics.

Committee Reports:

None.

Introduction of New Members:
The following new members were approved:

Anthony Kopitsky A1242

Mikael Horissian A1243

Anne Horissian A1244

Old Business:

Gerry Von Blohn reported that a banner is being made at Town Camera for our booth at the Early Bird expo. He requested that every shoot committee chairman write up a one page summary of how their shoot is run. That would make sure everyone manning the booth will have all the same info. Videos of shoots will be put on a DVD running on a loop and played at the expo.

New Business:

Secretary Lingousky asked who will run the 50/50 raffle that will start in January.  It was decided that a Sergeant at Arms will be appointed at each meeting who will run the raffle for that meeting.  Tickets will be $1 each or 7 for $5.

Secretary Lingousky asked permission to take the aluminum cans collected in the Clubhouse to the Main Township collection bin that benefits the Main Township Police Department.  The Boy Scouts used to take the cans, but no longer do so, so permission was granted to donate them to the police department.

President Jaskiewicz asked Secretary Lingousky to summarize the preceding Board meeting in which Gerry Von Blohn and Rod Bardo were appointed to the Board as Directors at large.  This brings the Board to 8 members.

Good and Welfare of the Club:

Curt  volunteered to do dinner for the January meeting.

President Jaskiewicz raffled off the two gift certificates that remained from Sight In Sunday.

Adjournment:

There being no further business to discuss, on a motion to adjourn by Mel Bardo, the meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
