Minutes March 17th

The March 17, 2022 meeting of the Mainville Sportsmen’s Club was called to order by President Denny Jaskiewicz at 7:05 p.m., followed by a moment of silence and the Pledge of Allegiance.  Twenty six members and two guests were present.  

Approval of Meeting Minutes:

Secretary Lingousky read the minutes of the February 17, 2022 meeting.  A motion was made by Neal DeLuca and seconded by Jeff Thompson to approve the minutes as read. The motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report:

Treasurer Hunsinger reported deposits and expenses since the February 2022 meeting. A motion to approve the report as presented was made by Brad Berlin, seconded by Donna Romig. The motion carried.

President’s Report:

President Jaskiewicz reported that we will be switching from Berwick Gas Sales to Heller’s Gas for better pricing plus the free auto detect feature of their tanks, which will notify them if the tank gets low so we never run out of gas.

Committee Reports:  

Steel Committee reported 11 shooters, all of whom are happy with the new steel.

Sanctioned Steel Challenge was cancelled due to snow.

Practical Pistol had 8 shooters.

Rod Bardo put out a call for more folks to come to Skeet shoots.

Introduction of New Members:
The following new member applications were approved with no abstentions:

Old Business:  

New member, Erik Kennedy, an electrician, volunteered to look at the project of adding red, down-range warning lights. 

New Business:

Mel Bardo made a motion that the club donate $400 to the Main Township Fire department for candy for their annual Easter egg hunt. Motion seconded by Bill Hunsinger, motion carried.

President Jaskiewicz opened the floor to additional nominations for the officer positions of Vice President and Secretary for fiscal year 2022.

At the February meeting, Curt Moorhead was nominated for VP and Joyce Lingousky was nominated for Secretary. There being no additional nominations, a single vote was cast for both candidates and thus both retained their positions.

Good and Welfare of the Club:

It was reported that the Club has received over $10K for logging so far. The monies will go toward improving and expanding parking.

Reminder that the Tri-county Friends of the NRA dinner will be Friday, March 25.  Clean up day #1 on Saturday, March 26.

Jeff Thomson volunteered to do dinner for the April meeting.
