President’s Report:

Gerry reported that work day was a big success with 28 members who came to help.  Projects completed include light switches at the main door of the clubhouse, the power at the 100- and 200-yard ranges moved above ground out of flood water, soil shored up at bench 40, plumbing in the clubhouse fixed, brass picked up around the range, as well as targets repaired and weeds cut down.  Seven five-gallon buckets of brass were collected plus one bucket of steel.  A huge thank you to everyone who showed up and helped!

Vice President’s Report:

VP Jay encouraged everyone to clean up brass but keep steel and aluminum separate.  He will soon be obtaining white buckets for steel and aluminum casings and placing those out for members to use.

President Gerry asked for input on vetting new member applicants to verify that all who apply are in fact legally allowed to own guns in PA.  Officers and the Board will discuss options with Mainville Police Chief and club lawyer and come back with a recommendation.

Member Sean Zanella reported that game warden Klinger would like to do a hunter safety class at the Club in April 2027.  They will select a date and the Club will provide lunch to the attendees.

Also, the game commission hosts “learn to shoot” and family days. Sean will offer our facilities to see if the game commission will do a family day or something here next year.

Also, Sean and Gerry will be taking RSO training so they can train RSO’s here.  Gerry proposes that the Club pay for the books for the trainees at $15 per book.

The date for Sight-In Sunday was approved to be Sunday, November 8, 2026. The Secretary will send out an email to membership.

Member Garry Marr requested May 1, 2027 to be reserved for the next Firearms familiarization and personal protection class. The Secretary will mark the club calendar and send out an email.

Good and Welfare of the Club:

Al Ascenzi asked for a way to wheel the trash cans to the dumpster since they are too heavy to carry.  Officers will look into something like hand trucks to strap the trash cans to and report back.

Linda Snyder volunteered to bring dinner for the October meeting.
